ACOA is looking for Public Health Service Officer volunteers to assist with sorting and packing recently donated food, repackaging produce or grains for families, or boxing non-perishable items for seniors across Atlanta. Atlanta Community Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that works with community-based partners to distribute food each month in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
Location: 3400 North Desert Drive Atlanta, GA
*Uniform of the Day: All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes they do not mind getting dirty. Volunteers must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

ACOA is looking for 10 Public Health Service Officer volunteers to assist with building a Habitat home. Atlanta Habitat for Humanity partners with working families, sponsors, and communities to build affordable, quality homes and to provide support services that promote successful home ownership. Since 1983, Atlanta Habitat has worked on over 1,300 homes, housing over 5,000 individual family members in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Location: Dekalb/South Fulton area; 1-2 days prior to the event,
confirmed and registered volunteers will receive the
address and detailed information about the build site.
*Uniform of the Day: Since we will be working on a construction site, all volunteers are required to wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes they do not mind getting dirty. Volunteers are encouraged to wear a USPHS t-shirt.
Depending on the build day, volunteers may be painting, caulking, laying sod, putting up cabinets, etc. No special skills are needed. Tools and equipment will be provided. Volunteers can bring their own gloves and bottled water. Lunch will be provided. A consent form is required for each volunteer. Confirmed volunteers will receive a link to register with Habitat for the event.
